Beirut Airport May Become "Rafik Hariri International Ariport-Beirut"
A proposal has been made to the government to rename Beirut International Airport as "Rafik Hariri's International Airport-Beirut," An Nahar reported on Tuesday.
It said the proposal was made by former Public Works Minister Najib Mikati to current Public Works Minister Yassin Jaber.

Mikati held the public works portfolio in Hariri's last two governments.

Mikati said in the letter that the rebuilding and rehabilitation of Beirut Airport after the civil war was one of Hariri's sterling accomplishments and it would be an acknowledgement by the people of Lebanon if the ariport is given his name.
