Kouchner to Convey France's Dissatisfaction over Delay in Cabinet Lineup
French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner is expected in Beirut later Thursday in a visit that extends till Saturday after postponing the rest of his scheduled tour to Syria, Israel, and the Palestinian territories.

French foreign ministry spokesman Bernard Valero said the postponement was due to organizational reasons.

Kouchner's last tour of the region dates back to July 2008 when he visited Lebanon and Syria.

His talks with Lebanese officials will kick off Friday morning in a meeting with Foreign Minister Fawzi Salloukh.

He will also hold meetings with President Michel Suleiman, Speaker Nabih Berri, caretaker PM Fouad Saniora and Premier-designate Saad Hariri.

French diplomatic sources told the daily An-Nahar that Kouchner, under instructions from French President Nicola Sarkozy, will convey Paris' dissatisfaction over the delay in forming a new government.

Kouchner, according to the sources, will also brief Lebanese officials on the latest developments with regards to convening an international peace conference.
