Bassil Informs Nasrallah Aoun's Rejection of Hariri's Offer

Caretaker Telecommunications Minister Jebran Bassil has reportedly informed Hizbullah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah about MP Michel Aoun's rejection of PM-designate Saad Hariri's latest proposal on the cabinet.
Al-Akhbar newspaper said Thursday that Bassil called Nasrallah the day before and informed him about Aoun's stance.

In another development, Speaker Nabih Berri, who visits President Michel Suleiman and holds consultations with MPs in parliament each Wednesday, did not carry out his usual functions.

Al-Akhbar daily also predicted that a parliament session on the election of parliamentary committees would be postponed again. It quoted Deputy Speaker Farid Makari as saying "the rule is clear. There would be election of committees if the cabinet was formed and the opposite is true."
