Six Fatah Islam Members Tasked with Monitoring UNIFIL Activity Arrested
Lebanese troops have arrested five members of Fatah al-Islam in Burj al-Shamali refugee camp in the southern city of Tyre.
The daily al-Liwaa on Friday, citing well-informed sources, said the detainees were tasked with monitoring UNIFIL activity "in preparation for the implementation of a terrorist attack against its peacekeeping personnel."

The sources said the arrests were based on information gathered by Lebanese authorities from Fatah Islam inmates who noted that there are sleeping cells in certain areas, including refugee camps in southern Lebanon.

They said among those cells are those seeking to target UNIFIL.
