Gemayel Fears Lebanon May Become 'Lab for Israeli, Iranian Weapons'
Phalange Party leader Amin Gemayel on Wednesday voiced his concerns over Lebanon turning into "a lab for Israeli weapons on the one hand, and Iranian weapons on the other," condemning "the suicidal course some are taking toward war."
"We are following the war approach and not the resistance approach," he warned in an interview with MTV network, stressing that "the dialogue table should focus on this matter."
Gemayel hoped President Michel Suleiman would oversee the dialogue "in a constructive manner that reassures the Lebanese," noting some obstacles that will stand in the way of dialogue, "especially that many are participating with presuppositions and ideological theories, and we are also participating with a stern and unyielding stance."
