Murr Kicks of Talks with U.S. Officials
Defense Minister Elias Murr is scheduled to meet with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Jeffrey Feltman on Tuesday ahead of talks with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Thursday.
Murr arrived in Washington at the head of a military delegation on Sunday night.
He is also scheduled to meet with his U.S. counterpart Robert Gates on Thursday and will attend the meetings of the joint U.S.-Lebanese military committee.
The minister will also travel to New York for talks with U.N. chief Ban Ki-moon.
