Suspected Libyan National Arrested near Interior Ministry

A Libyan national was arrested on Saturday in front of the ministry of interior in Beirut's al-Sanayeh neighborhood, after suspecting his movements in the area.

"Security forces arrested a Libyan national near the Interior Ministry after he was placed under suspicion," the state-run National News Agency reported.

"The detainee had a mobile phone with him, in which a picture of him in a room full of machine guns and rockets was found,” the NNA revealed.

"He also had a large sum of money in his possession,” the same source added, noting that he was referred to concerned authorities for further investigation.

LBCI had said earlier that security forces arrested Libyan national “S.M.A. after he claimed he possessed explosives.”

However, al-Jadeed television said investigation revealed that the arrested man had no explosives with him.
