Father of Child Abusing Syrian Boy in Video Arrested
The father of the child who was filmed abusing a Syrian boy has been arrested, announced the Internal Security Forces Intelligence Bureau on Sunday.
It said that the father, identified as A.Aa., was arrested from inside the van he owns in the al-Raml al-Ali area in Beirut's southern suburbs of Dahieh at 2:30 am on Sunday.
It also arrested H.T., who is suspected of filming his cousin while he was assaulting the child.
A video of a child beating up another minor, who is a Syrian national, went viral online, prompting the Ministry of Social Affairs and the judiciary to act and demand an investigation in the incident.
The video that was posted on YouTube shows Abbas, a Lebanese child who hails from the Bekaa, holding a stick and beating up another minor under the instruction of his parents.
The ISF Intelligence Bureau succeeded through its investigations and its contacts with its social media activists in determining the location where the assault against Syrian Khaled N., born in 2005, took place.
It also identified the other child in the video as Abbas Aa., a Lebanese national born in 2012.
