A rocket was launched at dawn from the outskirts of Shebaa town and landed in Lebanon's territory, the National News Agency reported on Tuesday.

Unknown assailants in the outskirts of Shebaa fired a rocket at 2:00 am that landed in southern Lebanon.

The Lebanese army has since been sweeping the southern tip of Shebaa in search for the rocket platform which launched missiles towards the north of the occupied Palestinian territories. The missiles landed on the highlands of al-Shahel mountain.

In that regard, the Lebanese army raided Bekaa's town of Brital on the backdrop of the incident.

Moreover, Israeli unmanned reconnaissance airplanes hovered over Shebaa, NNA added.

On Saturday, the Lebanese Army found in olive fields west of the southern region of Rashaya al-Fakhar, a launchpad that was used a week before to fire a rocket towards Israel but it fell short and landed in Lebanese territory.

Earlier, two rocket launchpads were found in the southern city of Tyre.

The rocket attacks from the South started amid an Israeli assault on Gaza, which entered today its fifteenth day leaving hundreds of Palestinians dead and wounded.
