Another Tripoli Young Man Killed in Iraq Conflict

A young man who hails from the northern city of Tripoli has been killed fighting alongside extremist groups in Iraq, where fierce battles are taking place between the army, allied militias and the Islamic State group.

“Young man Khaled Ahmed Ahdab, aka Abu Hamza, has been killed while fighting in Iraq,” LBCI reported on Tuesday, noting that he hails from Tripoli.

His family said it will be receiving “congratulations on his martyrdom,” the TV network added.

It said the young man's uncle is Sheikh Zakaria al-Masri, the imam of the Hamza Mosque in Tripoli's al-Qobbeh.

Ahdab is not the first Tripoli resident to be killed while fighting in Iraq. On August 26, Tripoli man Hisham al-Hajj detonated a booby-trapped car carrying 300 kilograms of explosives against a gathering of the Shiite militia Asaib Ahl al-Haq in Baghdad.
