Teen Briefly Abducted from Arsal

Armed men kidnapped on Thursday night a teenager in the northeastern border town of Arsal and took him to the village's outskirts, the third such operation in ten days.

He was later released on Friday afternoon, reported the National News Agency.

Rawad Mohammed Ezzeddine, 17, was abducted by a group of assailants from his father's sawmill in the Wadi Hmeid area.

He was then taken to the outskirts of the town before being released to his family on Friday.

The kidnapping of Arsal residents has increased lately.

Last week, three residents from the town were abducted by militants in two separate operations.

But Islamic State militants later released two of them identified as Ali Riyad Ezzeddine and Mustafa Hassan Zaarour

The third abductee, Younes al-Hujeiri, the owner of a stone quarry and who was kidnapped on January 19, remains in captivity.
