Loew: Euro Won't Be Spanish-German Cakewalk

Euro 2012 will not be a cakewalk for holders Spain and in-form Germany, German coach Joachim Loew said on Wednesday, insisting other nations such as France had to be considered.

"It's not certain this match (a Germany versus Spain showdown) will happen at this tournament -- even if everyone is talking about this duel," Loew told reporters who asked him to compare his side's chances with those of the defending European and world champions.

"The Dutch, England, Portugal, France are also among the favorites," insisted Loew, although the Portuguese will have to qualify via the play-offs after Denmark edged them in the group stage.

"We have to get past numerous other obstacles and not just Spain."

Despite having already qualified, Germany beat Belgium 3-1 on Tuesday to end their qualifying campaign with a perfect 10 victories and 34 goals scored.

That form has made Die Mannschaft, three-time continental champions, many people's top tip to lift the trophy for the first time since 1996 if Spain cannot defend their crown.

Spain beat Germany in the 2008 final with a Fernando Torres goal.
