Gemayel Meets Suleiman, Briefs him on Egypt Visit
Phalange Party leader Amin Gemayel held talks on Monday with President Michel Suleiman on the former’s recent trip to Egypt.
Gemayel informed him of his talks with Arab League chief Nabil al-Arabi, Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohammed Kamel Amro, Coptic Pope Shenouda III, and al-Azhar Shiekh Ahmed al-Tayyib.
The two officials also discussed the possibility of holding a Muslim-Christian meeting hosted by al-Azhar.
Gemayel had tackled this issue with Tayyib in order to bolster dialogue between religions.
The Phalange Party leader had travelled to Egypt earlier this month to hold talks with a number of Egyptian officials.
