Bassil: Most Successful Foreign Policies are Independent Ones
Foreign Minister Jebran Bassil remarked on Tuesday that the existence of several foreign policies yields lack of national unity, reported the National News Agency.
He said: “This has resulted in the creation of such jokes as the policy of disassociation, which is aimed at evading disputes.”
“The most successful foreign policies are independent ones,” he explained.
There is national unity that Israel is Lebanon's enemy, he continued, but differences have emerged over how to confront it.
“Everyone rejects the naturalization of foreigners and Syrian refugees, but some sides find that it is a reality,” the minister noted.
Moreover, Bassil stated: “Terrorism is born from religion and is fed by funds and spreads through ideologies. Corruption also threatens the state and all these dangers will lead to the loss of an irreplaceable country. Terrorism will be victorious in Europe if Lebanon falls.”
