Brazilian police announced on Saturday the arrest of a Lebanese man suspected of having links to Hizbullah, media reports said on Saturday.

Fadi Hassan Nabha, 42, who is wanted for drug trafficking charges was arrested a week ahead of the Rio Olympics.

Sao Paulo police said in a statement that Nabha was arrested late on Thursday at his home in Caieiras, a suburb of Sao Paulo.

He has been on the Interpol's wanted list since 2013 for drug trafficking.

The report added that Nabha had served in Hizbullah special services and had trained on the use of weapons and explosives.
