U.N.-Habitat Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Azm & Saade Association

The United Nations Human Settlements Program (U.N.-Habitat) and Azm & Saade Association have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in a launching ceremony that took place on Monday, November 28.

The event started with opening remarks from ex-PM Najib Miqati and Tarek Osseiran, U.N.-Habitat Program Manager, who highlighted the importance of establishing partnerships with local actors, be it the municipality, or active NGOs working at the community level.

The opening addresses was followed by a presentation by Sarah Hassoun, Civil Engineer at the Azm & Saade Association, who elaborated on their work of “creating job opportunities for the most vulnerable communities in Tripoli… and working closely with U.N.-Habitat to achieve city wide initiatives.”

Samer Schinder, U.N.-Habitat Tripoli Area Coordinator, then expanded upon their continued work in creating comprehensive City Profiles for Lebanon’s cities.

Within the framework of this MoU, U.N.-Habitat and Azm and Saade will jointly rehabilitate a public space in Haddadine neighborhood in Tripoli.
