Hariri Receives Chinese Vice Foreign Minister
Prime Minister Saad Hariri received Friday evening at the Center House the Chinese Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Zhang Ming, in the presence of the Chinese Ambassador to Lebanon Wang Kejian.
After the meeting, Ming said: “I met with Prime Minister Hariri and we exchanged views on ways to reinforce cooperation between China and Lebanon. We also discussed regional and international issues of common interest.”
“Bilateral relations between our two countries go back to the traditional Silk Road. The Chinese President Xi Jinping launched the “One Belt, One Road” initiative and I explained it to Premier Hariri and told him we are happy that Lebanon is participating in building it,” added Ming.
He concluded: “I also expressed China’s satisfaction to see the strong inclination towards agreement between the various sects in Lebanon, which signals further economic and social development, and social stability in this country.”
