Army Commander General Joseph Aoun began an official visit on Monday to the United States where he is scheduled to hold talks with military and civilian officials, the National News Agency reported.
Talks are set to focus on strengthening cooperation between the armies of the two countries, NNA said.
It added that the visit which will last a few days.
Media reports meanwhile said that discussions are expected to focus on “assessing” the U.S. military aid to the Lebanese army, to help it to pursue its mission in “safeguarding Lebanon’s territory.”
