Gallinari Powers Nuggets Past Lakers
One night after missing an uncontested layup to equalize in the last seconds, Italy's Danilo Gallinari scored 20 points to lead the Denver Nuggets over the Los Angeles Lakers 99-90 on Sunday.
Ty Lawson added 17 points and 10 assists while Brazil's Nene contributed 13 for the Nuggets, who improved to 3-2 while the Lakers fell to 3-3.
The Lakers won 92-89 on Saturday at home when Gallinari botched his golden opportunity in the dying moments, but Denver took a measure of revenge on home hardwood.
Spaniard Pau Gasol led the Lakers with 20 points and added 11 rebounds while Andrew Bynum added 18 points and 16 rebounds and Kobe Bryant contributed 16 points in a losing cause.
The Nuggets took a 47-36 half-time lead and held off a Laker rally in the second half.
