Report: BDL Weighing New Circulars to Facilitate Money Withdrawals
The central bank of Lebanon is in the process of issuing new circulars to banks in order to facilitate cash withdrawals for citizens, al-Joumhouria daily reported on Thursday.
Ministerial sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told the daily that the “priority at present is to complete the government's economic plan, which is supposed to crystallize in its final form within a short period of time, with special focus on debt structuring.”
They added that creditors have “positively” evaluated Lebanon after a presentation made by Finance Minister Ghazi Wazni a few days ago on the Lebanese situation and issues related to suspending the payment of Eurobonds.
