Lebanese Man Killed in Venezuela, Mansour Demands Swift Investigation

A 22-year-old Lebanese man was killed in Carabobo state in Venezuela during an attempted robbery, which angered the residents of the Baysour area in Lebanon on Saturday who demanded that the government to launch an immediate investigation in the case.

The Lebanese government “should follow up on the crime to punish those who are guilty and bring them to justice in order to protect our expatriate children,” the residents of Baysour said.

Jawad Walid al-Aridi was killed while thieves were trying to rob him in Carabobo state.

Lebanese Ambassador to Venezuela Charbel Wehbe informed Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour that the Venezuelan authorities identified the killer of al-Aridi.

Wehbe attributed the murder to the security chaos in the country.

Mansour earlier contacted Wehbe to inquire about the case and launch a swift probe concerning the murder.

“We are waiting for any new information provided by Wehbe,” Mansour told the National News Agency.
