Tourtwist is a social platform where tourists identify and connect with friendly locals to customize their visit and turn their holidays into unique cultural experiences. It’s mainly targeting non-commercial and rural areas where one can experience the true Lebanese culture.
Tourtwist is planning its beta launch to be at the end of May and the official launch to be sometime in November after the high season is over.
For the moment, the service is a web platform only. However, the team is planning to develop a mobile application too.
Pierre Daher, Managing Partner of Tourwist, visited Seeqnce offices in Hamra and told us more about the concept itself and the way the idea was born. He was also talking about Tourtwist’s target market as well as its monetization strategy and future funding.
In the end he revealed the current challenges the project is facing and recommended to fresh entrepreneurs “to carefully evaluate the potential of their idea, to develop a proof of concept and to find a good mentor from the beginning”.
