New Israeli Air Strike Kills Three Civilians in Gaza

Three Palestinian civilians were killed and four more people hurt on Friday in an air raid on south Gaza, medical sources said, in the second deadly strike of the morning.

The latest raid hit a target in Qarara, northeast of Khan Yunis, emergency services spokesman Adham Abu Selmiya told Agence France Presse, identifying the victims as Talal Taha, 55, a woman called Najah Qudeih, 45, and her 21-year-old daughter Nidal.

Four others were wounded in the strike, including an 18-year-old girl who was in serious condition, Abu Selmiya said.

An earlier strike had killed two Hamas militants in the nearby area of Khuza'a, just east of Khan Yunis, medical and military sources said.

The Qarara air strike took place just minutes after Israeli police said six rockets had landed in Israel, hitting an area north of the Gaza Strip.

It was not immediately clear whether the air strikes had signaled an end to the truce, or whether the firing of rockets was carried out by a recalcitrant group who had not signed up to the ceasefire.
