Phalange: Gemayel’s Proposal of National Salvation Government Most Suitable Solution to Current Crisis
The Phalange Party criticized on Tuesday the ongoing governmental vacuum in Lebanon, calling on officials to speed up the formation process and asserting that party leader Amin Gemayel’s suggestion to form a national salvation Cabinet is the best solution for Lebanon in this current phase.
It said after its weekly politburo meeting: “All excuses some sides had presented to avoid this proposal are baseless because the country is in need of leaders who can confront the repercussions regional developments may have on Lebanon.”
“The politburo is convinced that a camp in Lebanon is seeking to create a vacuum in Lebanon instead of forming a government,” it stated.
Addressing the construction violations on public property, it stressed: “Construction of public property is a violation of all Lebanese citizens.”
The politburo emphasized the need to avoid selectivity in tackling this issue, demanding that the security forces and interior minister adopt an unwavering approach in put an end to the violations.
Commenting on the killing of al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden, the statement noted: “The death of one individual does not eliminate terrorism in the world.”
