Saqr Receives Samaha File ahead of Issuing Indictment

State Commissioner to the Military Court Judge Saqr Saqr received on Thursday the case of former Minister Michel Samaha ahead of issuing an indictment in the affair, reported the National News Agency.

First Military Investigation Judge Riyad Abu Ghaida referred the file to Saqr for assessment after he completed his investigations in the case.

Al-Joumhouria newspaper had reported on Saturday that Saqr has not yet received any new findings in the case, most notably after Syrian Security chief Major General Ali Mamlouk refused to stand before the Lebanese military judiciary over his links to the affair.

The latest findings in the case revealed that Samaha was transporting RDX explosives from Syria to Lebanon, revealed the sources.

The former minister was arrested in August on charges of forming a criminal gang aimed at carrying out attacks in Lebanon at Syria's behest.

Mamlouk and a Syrian army colonel identified only by his first name Adnan have been also charged in the affair.
