Army Finds Israeli-Made Shells and Weapons in Zrariyeh

An army patrol found on Thursday Israeli-made mortar shells and artillery in the southern town of al-Zrariyeh.

"The mortar shells that were found were set to explode," MTV reported.

"The army cordoned off al- Zrariyeh after 7 mortar shells and weapons with Hebrew writings on them were found,” al-Mayadeen TV said.

On July 2, an Israeli jet blew up a spying device between the southern towns of Zrariyeh and Tayr Filsay, reported various media outlets.

Al-Manar television said that the attack targeted a device that was located on a Hizbullah telecommunications cable.

Following the incident, the western sector in southern Lebanon witnessed heavy overflights by Israeli warplanes above the stream of the Litani River, reported LBCI television.

In December 2011, Israel detonated a spy device it had placed on the party’s telecommunications network.

Hizbullah had said in a statement at the time that it had foiled an attempt by Israel to spy on its network through a device placed on its cable located between the towns of Srifa and Deirkifa in the South.
