LEBAM Presents Christmas Concert at Lebanese Order of Physicians

The Lebanese Band Association for the promotion of Music organized during the past weekend a Christmas musical concert in cooperation with the Lebanese Order of Physicians (OML) and the Lebanon Lions Club at the headquarters of the OML in Furn al-Chebback.

Tens of children of the national orchestra for boys and girls, the Honor Band, performed during the concert, presenting musical pieces by Anderson, King, Smith and others.

Aged between 8 and 12 and dressed in holiday-themed costumes, the kids also performed famous Christmas hymns that were positively received by the audience.

LEBAM is the brainchild of Free Patriotic Movement MP Ghassan Moukhaiber, who founded it in 2008 with the late Ghassan Tueni, former deputy speaker and the dean of Lebanese journalists and the honorary president and former chairman of the board of directors of An Nahar newspaper, along with the deceased Dr. Walid Gholmieh, the former director of the Lebanese National Higher Conservatory of Music.

The association aims at promoting the development and dissemination of music in Lebanon as a tool for educational and social development, through the free teaching of wind and percussion instruments from 12 to 18 years old youth and organizing them in community based harmonic bands and other ensembles, using freely donate instruments.

The LEBAM projects are conducted in collaboration with the Lebanese National Higher Conservatory of Music.
