Wanted Suspect Arrested after Highway Standoff with Security Forces
A wanted suspect was arrested on Saturday after a brief standoff with security forces on the Beirut to Sidon highway in the Damour region, reported the National News Agency.
It said that state security forces had managed to surround the suspect, who was riding along the highway in a black Kia.
Upon being surrounded, the suspect locked himself in his vehicle and brandished a hand grenade, threatening to toss it at the security forces.
After half an hour, the suspect threw the grenade at the security forces, but it did not explode.
The security forces then seized the opportunity and arrested him.
