ISF Seizes Medication Smuggled from Turkey Headed to Bekaa

The Health Ministry announced on Thursday that a truck smuggling medication from Turkey has been seized in the Bekaa.

It said that the Internal Security Forces had stopped the truck at a checkpoint near the Bekaa town of Zahleh where it discovered its load.

The truck had been heading from the North to the Bekaa.

After inspection, it was determined that the truck was unregistered and smuggled from Turkey.

The medication has since been confiscated and sent for inspection.

An arrest warrant was issued in February against Abdul Latif Fneish, brother of Minister of State for Administrative Reform Mohammed Fneish, on charges of being linked to a drug scandal that included the forging certificates of laboratory tests and the illegal import of medications.
