Kabbara: We Will Not Stand Idly by as Syrian People are Massacred

Mustaqbal bloc MP Mohammed Kabbara voiced on Wednesday his support for the Syrian people and their plight against the ruling regime.

He said in a statement: “We will not stand idly by as the Syrian people are massacred and say that we will remain neutral.”

“We will not stand idly by as Syria’s allies in Lebanon intervene against the Syrian people and say that we will remain neutral,” he continued.

“No, we are not neutral. We support the Syrian people who are being oppressed by those who oppressed us, humiliated by those who humiliated us, and killed by those who killed us,” he declared.

“No, we will not stand idly by as those who committed massacres in Tripoli are threatening to massacre the Syrian people,” the MP stated.

“We have been liberated and we will never allow them to reoccupy our land,” Kabbara stressed.

Furthermore, he criticized Arab countries and the international community for not taking a stand against the Syrian regime’s actions “as Russian-made tanks that did not combat Israel are heading to massacre the Syrians.”

“Russia is preventing the international community from saving the Syrians and the Arabs are idle spectators,” he noted.

He also accused Syrian intelligence of luring Palestinian refugees from refugee camps in Syria to the occupied Golan Heights “were they are murdered” by Israeli troops and later, their families are shot at by Syrian security forces during their funeral service.”

He said this in reference to recent clashes at the Golan Heights between Israeli soldiers and Palestinian protestors commemorating the Nakba and Naksa days.

“What are waiting for? Should we wait for Syrian troops to enter our land to oppress the innocent Syrian people who fled their country to Lebanon as our government remains idle?” he asked.

“Yes, we support the Syrian people because the oppressed will be victorious over the oppressor,” Kabbara added.
