General Security Busts Nabatiyeh Money Counterfeiting Cell
General Security officers have arrested a man who along with his father form a gang for counterfeiting currencies in southern Lebanon, the state-run National News Agency reported.
NNA said M.H. was arrested during a raid of a house in the area of Nabatiyeh. The General Security personnel found with him 100,000 dollars and counterfeit notes of 700,000 dollars.
The forces also confiscated instruments used for forging the bills, said the agency.
The suspect was referred to the financial public prosecutor's office in Nabatiyeh, which has issued a search warrant for his father Aa. H.
Investigators suspect that the two men have formed a currency counterfeit network and have carried out several fraud operations, NNA added.
