هايل: على اللبنانيين اختيار قادتهم

أكد السفير الأميركي في لبنان دايفيد هايل أن "الانتخابات الرئاسية والبرلمانية مساران على اللبنانيين فيهما اختيار قادتهم"، مردفاً أن "العواقب المأساوية هي نتيجة عدم التمسك بسياسة النأي بالنفس واعتماد اعلان بعبدا في كل أنحاء لبنان".
وأشار هايل السبت في تغريدات له على موقع "تويتر"، الى أن "الانتخابات الرئاسية والبرلمانية مساران لبنانيّان للبنانيين في اختيار قادتهم".
وشدد على أن "دور الولايات المتحدة ليس للقيام بالإختيار"، مردفاً أننا "نريد المساعدة في حماية هذا المسار وعدم تمكين الخارج من القيام بخيارات لبنان".
ولفت الى أن "الولايات المتحدة قدمت أكثر من 340 مليون دولار لالمجتمعات اللبنانية المضيفة من أجل التعامل مع الضغط الناجم عن وجود اللاجئين"، مردفاً في سياق منفصل أن "سياسة النأي بالنفس هي السياسة الصحيحة".
وأكد هايل أن "الولايات المتحدة تحث وتدعم الاعتماد الكامل لإعلان بعبدا وسياسة النأي بالنفس"، مشيرا الى أننا "نرى العواقب المأساوية لعدم التمسك بسياسة النأي بالنفس في كل أنحاء لبنان".
يشار الى أن هايل عاد من الولايات المتحدة الأميركية حيث التقى رئيس الحكومة تمام سلام ورئيس مجلس النواب نبيه بري.

There is nothing that pisses me off more than these huge hypermarkets killing the local stores, or when I see Sayfco politicizing its way into getting a permit for a 40 storey tower to make yet more profit, dwarfing small developers, or when I see these amorphous brands lined up in the shopping malls instead of having a farmer's market...

You say we have to fight for our country. But our land IS free today, I dont see what you want to fight for? Our fight today is to get economic prosperity to lebanon, and to get jobs to lift people out of poverty. The logic of fighting endless wars is over today.

Israel wants to have its vital space, but it is not looking at lebanon anymore, it is growing economically through high tech and finance- It would be willing to sign peace with lebanon tomorrow, but we dont want.
Saudi wants to have Lebanon as a place to invest money and to play.
Iran wants to use lebanon as a card to gets its nuclear weapon. we are only a card for them.
