Read this story in English
Aoun Says Concerns over Proportional Election Law Unjustified
Oh yes they are justified. First, the Taeif accord did not stipulate any proportional representation and many of its fundamentals have not been implemented like eliminating 'political sectarianism'. Add, there are no political parties in Lebanon than transcend sectarian divides.
In this country if you want to employ a 'darakeh' or even a secretary with minimal wage in any government position, the procedure has to adhere to sectarian considerations.
Let alone the ineffectiveness of governance when you have a parliament and a government that are the by product of proportional representation.
Aoun is simply trying to please his masters in hezbollah.
lol @ the shia wired troll
hariri has been dead for 11 years!!! why hasn't Taif been implemented since then? During Emile Lahoud's dictatorship or the hezbollah aoun miqati government?
You are a true winner
Mr. Awireless has demonstrated over the years positive proposals and for this he deserves my respect and admiration.
Do you understand that this is not doing away with Article 24's set-aside of half of Parliament to Christian candidates? It only changes slightly how those set-aside seats and the other seats are awarded. It is microscopic moving of deck chairs on the Titanic. I am amazed how Mr. Aoun talks about this issue in terms of justice and propriety, diversity and unity, all the while not even mentioning majority rule. It is as if he thinks being a failed state is Lebanon's highest aspiration; and a failed state is what you are if your Constitution prevents reason, or the public, from being involved in governance. Or go ahead, educate me: why is that Christian set-aside needed?
interesting the 'Christians' on the forum never have anything to say when the fake chrisrushlau keeps posting his iranian inspired article 24 rubbish.
so the wireless router from tehran believes anyone who opposes his shia iranian views is a loser. Impressive
and with honors too. abbas hashem is part of the fpm because in that district the fpm or whoever ends up winning the ticket is obliged to pick up a minority shia candidate on its list. Can abbas hashem become head of the fpm or atef majdalani head of mustaqbal? When they do come and vomit here and say Lebanon has parties that transcend sectarian divide.
just like dahieh is part of beirut's municipality and falls under its jurisdiction, everything you say is absolute filth.
the only things proven are your continued lies and deceit. You were all for the Orthodox election Law for years because it was the only true law according to you that gave the Christians proper representation under a sectarian political system. Now, that aoun is trying to deliver on his promises to your hezb, you became a champion of proportional representation.
Diseased iranian troll....
“My will is to provide stability at the security, political, economic, social and financial levels to enable Lebanon to restore the positive role known to all on the international arena. We have started setting the plans for that, and some of these plans are on their way to implementation.”
well done General, finally Lebanon has a leader.
I am the roar, a shia who pretends to be christian. I have nothing to offer so i troll the forum and attack posters becaues i am filled with hate. I am ashamed of my appearance and my failures. I cannot hold a job more than week at a time. I have a speech impediment and missing teeth.
They are paid to hate & spread vile to any article which could harm their paid agenda.
The proof? just watch how they address any comment that affirms good things for Lebanon, they will use _shia_Iranian, troll etc etc.
That's what their paid to do.
I have gained so much respect for Mr. Incorruptible over the years because he believes the rise of Lebanon under general Aoun who is now president is inevitable.
I also respect him for his outstanding skills in math and sciences.
Why don't you respect yourself for once ice-man...try it sometime.
this lame approach you use is so lame & old
seriously dude you're lameness is cringe material
GROW UP!
lol using puppets & old lame lines is most traumatizing ..
No wonder you lot are unable to see reality, be it world events, politics or anything you post about.
