the filthy ziono-euro-usa world information war department and their regional allies are behind terror acts of this kind similar to what the americans are doing to our great people of iraq. Our glorious resistance and its leader confirmed this evil alliance is behind baghdad explosions and this one not different. These efforts will no doubt fail as they make us stronger and more patriotical.

another peaceful demonstrator? naharnet and others, please, when will you stop participating in that big masquerade? everybody knows these troubled times in Syria are due to armed mercenaries and rebels who are funded, trained, supported and coordinated by foreign powers (inluding turkey, saudi, US, Qatar and m14 elements in lebanon).
Chaos in Syria will not serve any Lebanese interests, no matter from which side, and hatred for Assad should not blind us into encouraging and supporting religious fanatics and terrorists gaining power against what is still a secular regime in Syria. Consequences would be catastrophic for the whole area, and those who hope they will be spared and find their interest are heading for a big disillusion.

It is regretful that suicide bombers do exist. Anyone who blows himself up to kill innocent civilians is a product of a sick ideology no matter who gave the orders.
Could it be that the Monsters that Assad and his gang have bred in order to spread death and destruction in Iraq are coming back to devour them?
It is hard to think that this might be self inflicted by the regime but, then again, those who butcher their people mercilessly will not refrain from staging a suicide bombing in order to make a point.
Obviously we cannot count on any truth to come out, at the end we pity the Syrian people.

It remains a pathetic reality of those living under the boot for so many years that they fail to distinguish reality from fiction in so far as the dictatorship Syrian regime. Considering the history of the brutal regime in Lebanon for 30 years, the feared mokhabarat's, the lack of liberties of expression and otherwise, the poverty and limited personal growth opportunities, the killing, yet some look to the outside to find and assign blame. Look internally and have the courage to stand up, no one will do it for you. And get your head out of the sand and look around - the world has moved on, progressed, improved, and where are the Syrian people in all of this? Wake up!

“Naturally the common people don’t want war. But after all, it is the leaders of a country who determine the policy, and it’s always a simple matter to drag people along whether it is a democracy or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. This is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and for exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country.”

minilibnan indeed one should never forget, and the choice to forgive is yours i have no right to tell you to forgive or no to forgive. but if one syrian did wrong, then avenging on another random syrian, most likely innocent and completely unrelated to the former crime, is not justifiable. it is blind hatred, and it consumes you more than anything... besides that, i see some leaders getting rich, taking the easy safe ways, siding with whoever has the loudest voice, and abusing their followers, and i see other leaders putting themselves in danger, standing up against greater powers, showing sacrifice and humility, so i cannot approve your comment that they "all suck".

quotes out of their context are hardly valid information. the magnificent GMA vowed to break the neck of the alawite regime in 1989 because syria was occupying lebanon. he couldnt achieve this goal because the lebanese forces bombed the lebanese army by implicit orders of the then US embassador, instead of joining hands with aoun against syria. this is old history. now syria is out, and we have a syrian embassy. nothing should prevent lebanon of having normal diplomatic ties with syria. times change and people learn to circumvent their differences, or else you wouldnt have a german-french alliance because, in your logic, the germans occupied france in WWII
