It would be good for both parties to commence talks if these talks are not another ploy by the Assad regime to appear as if they are the innocent and the opposition parties are the terrorists. Unfortunately, this happened like this flagrantly with the Arab observers and all of us know what the consequences were: more killing and zero results from the observers' move.

My gut feeling is for the opposition to start arming themselves and attacking the regime's cadres. It's only thru this way that Assad could be toppled.

After all the people will prevail ultimately no matter what.

ASSad's days not weeks are numbered, the Free Syrian Army is closing in on him . His Army is disintegrating, his family tried to sneak out of Syria, most likely towards Tehran but could not. The same fate of Guaddafi is most likely, however it is better if he stays alive and be delivered to the international criminal court.

The FSA will become stronger and will face off with the army in significant battles in the next 2 months. At that time the only portion of the army that will still be on Assad's side will be the 4th army and the shabbi7a. No foreign intervention, no arab intervention not Turkish intervention and all the Iranian and Hizb intervention will not help. Hizb has 40K fighters. If they are all moved to Syria to support the regime, the Israelis will take advantage and smash them on the southern front. THINK PEOPLE!!!!! HE IS DONE. Cut your losses and find a way to survive.

The funny part is that SNC thinks Russia was referring to them. The Syrian government doesn't recognize them and Russia already met with them and determined they're weak, foreign-funded and non-representative of the Syrian people. Silly SNC, they're talking before even getting an invitation.
