Read this story in English W460

I can't see how we'd benefit from this. And why would M8 government allow this? it's obscure and fishy!

They usually offer something in exchange, maybe money, technology or other stuff. The fact that it wasn't rejected outright means there is something in return.

When the US has established stations of any kind around the world the local economy has always beneffited from it.
Who knows, if it were true that it could be linked to Israeli stations, surely this could be an attempt to bring calm to the region.
Immediate communications between two sides in a conflict can lower the danger.

Yalla Mowaten. Yalla. Yalla shoo? Yalla, remove the red thumbs and you'll get green ones, it's the spirit of Xmas. Just like Santa, the real one was green.... Coca cola made him red and here you go today.... We only see him in red.

Que la paix soit avec toi.

Security is already breached by HA and Israel to begin with. Look at why the net here is slow too, so many spy programs and hacking. With both already spying the living daylights out of Lebanon, this isn't new.

Keep in mind also WHY the 3G with Alfa and Touch is nowhere near actual 3G speeds.

We don't need any of this stuff whether it helps the economy or not. This will only bring us more controversy and be used politically by one side or the other. So THANK YOU BUT NO THANKS!
... unless we can use it to tap into their communications?

We should all work on making this country neutral. this is the only way to insulate it from trouble and calm down the boiling sectarian partisanship hormones in the inside. A red light district can also help with this regard. Seriously, this is more important that any other potential benefit, especially for the long-term sake of the country. So spare us all with your theories on naval bases, communication centers, etc.

If at first you don't succeed, try and try again. It is a well know fact that by repeating an untruth enough times, the majority of people will believe you. So good luck.

We have to seize this opportunity to establish the base, and create a dependance of the US on Lebanon. This way, we will have a card in our hands in case the going gets tough, in any future negotiation.
Egypt is getting 3B dollars a yeaer from the US, Israel 4B. Instead of turning our head in the sand and pretend we want to liberate east timor, we could join the bandwagon and start courting the US, the white house, the congress, the army... to get advantages

Leb_first, I wish you picked another name before posting this.
All you will be creating is a dependance on a foreign state whose legitimacy is very controversial in the Middle-east and that's a fact.
And Egypt? Just look where the 3B led them. No economy, no education, non-existant international status.. (poor pharaons should be turning in their graves right now)
Please guys, let's not kid ourselves! US money has not helped in the development of any country in the region except for one (philipo's). All I see is more poverty, more partition, less tolerance. Just look at ourselves and our posts...

Couldn't agree with you more.
Could you imagine what a couple of billion dollars a year would do to Lebanon's economy.

Lebanon_first... We need to work on getting weapons out of Lebanon before asking other countries to bring theirs here.

They wana come all the way over here n build a telecommunications station, n we can't even build a power station ourselves! What a failed society we r.
