Shoe Thrown in Mixed Reception for Rouhani after Obama Call

A shoe was thrown towards Iranian President Hassan Rouhani's car Saturday as he arrived home to a mixed reception for his historic call with Barack Obama, an AFP correspondent reported.

Some 60 hardline Islamists chanted "Death to America" and "Death to Israel" as Rouhani's motorcade drew out of Tehran's Mehrabad Airport.

But they were outnumbered by 200 to 300 supporters of the president who shouted: "Thank you Rouhani."

A small police contingent separated the rival demonstrators.

The shoe missed the car and Rouhani stood up through the sunroof to acknowledge the crowds.

Before leaving New York where he attended the U.N. General Assembly, Rouhani had a 15-minute telephone conversation with Obama on Friday, the first contact between leaders of the two countries in more than three decades.

How low can the intergalactic Bandari-Gaegaee-Takfiri alliance get !!!! These attempts to recruit some young hot headed Iranian youth by Gaegae and Harriri to throw shoes at president Rouhani are cheap and will not change the Islamic Republic of Iran's foreign policy. A shoe here and a shoe there will only strengthen the determination of the Mullahs of Iran to achieve economic self independence and provide the highest standard of living for their citizens. The world is looking with dismay at these shoe throwers and their GCC sponsors.... tfehhhhh

Where is the ayatollah? I'd like to hear what he has to say about this. Then again he is exactly like a king, and I doubt rowhani would have made the call without his blessing. Or else it would be death by suicide for the president. Or it might not have been a shoe.
HA must be wondering what the hell is going on as well.
