Hizbullah Refused to Meet Head of STL Defense Office

Hizbullah rejected a suggestion to hold a meeting with the head of the Defense Office of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon Francois Roux aimed at studying the possibility of the confronting the indictment, revealed widely informed sources to the pan-Arab daily al-Hayat on Sunday.

They explained that the meeting would have explained to the party leadership the seriousness of the Defense’s work, as well as the possibility of overturning the accusations against Hizbullah members indicted in the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.

The party leadership however stressed that it will not back down from its decision to not cooperate with the international tribunal after labeling it as politicized and an American-Israeli tool aimed at destroying the party.

The sources added that the meeting would have demonstrated to Hizbullah that Roux is serious in his mission in defending the accused, pointing out that he had also enlisted the help of prominent lawyers to assist him in his mission.

Furthermore, they revealed that the suggestion was made a while before the indictment in the STL was issued and after Hizbullah escalated its campaign against the court.

The STL issued arrest warrants against four Hizbullah members suspected of being involved in Hariri’s 2005 assassination.

Interpol sent alerts to Lebanon and 186 countries on Saturday ordering the apprehension of the suspects.

If they are not arrested in 30 days after the release of the warrants, then the suspects will be tried in absentia.

Just highlights Hizbollah's utter disregard for justice. They could have had a chance to make their case for attacking the tribunal, but of course know there accusations won't withstand logic argument but are merely for tickling Shia sheeps ears...

Nassrallah claims the STL is an american-Zionist plot against his sacred resistance. This man for sure has distorted logic. Let's for a moment assume it was Israel who killed Harriri, then who killed Col. Wissam Eid of the intelligence bureau who unveiled the involvement of the hizbullah cell in the assassination of Harriri? Did Israel also assassinate Wissam Eid to protect Hizbullah? Nassrallah cannot have his cake and eat it too. Stop underestimating people's intelligence.

Why doesn't Hizbullah do what please March 14, aka Friends-of-Israel? Shouldn't they be more friendly with the Friends-of-Israel-in-Lebanon? At least their boss, i.e. Saad Imbecile Hariri traded the blood of his father and the martyrs for political gains. Isn't this a nice gesture considering that Imbecile Saad and his dumb advisers were the ones to buy, buy, buy truths whichever way it could be fabricated and ended up saying bye, bye, bye justice? What more do they want? A promise that the blade will be sharp and very quick on their necks? Come on Hizbullah. All that Israel and the Friends-of-Israel want is that you be the sacrificial lamb. You know no one dares hint that Israel, and behind it the US, killed Mafioso Rafik and the others I personally thank them for that, though). So please understand and be considerate. Thanks.

hassan don't get it: STL is not inviting him or his kronies to the hague, the tribunal is TELLING him to go to court.
he didn't have the courage to confront moughnieh's killers in damascus, how he has the ability now to confront international justice?
and BTY a paragraph from international law:".... any person who helps criminals to escape or helping a criminal hide is commiting a criminal act..." ok mikati??????////

Mikati is not reachable, he is enjoying the freedom of the west in Italy, drinking coffee and good wines and enjoying excellent chef's and shopping using euros and dollars in Armani stores!

did you think he will go on holiday to Iran? there is nothing there, he cant even put his shorts on because shorts are banned in the heat even!

so he went to Italy to feel the smell of freedom before coming back to Lebanon under occupation by hezeb el shitan that will turn it into Iran soon!

they look like a 5 yr old kid punished by their teacher and sulking in their corner...

It's funny how most Hezbollah and Iranian propagandists here insult Rafik Hariri, call him mafioso, and say they are glad he was killed, and yet they want us to believe they didn't kill him. All evidence points to their involvement in his murder. If anyone had the means and motive to kill him it was them (with help from their ally Syria).

In civilized countries, you prove your innocence in the court of law, not in the media. They are the ones politicizing this process, and they are probably also involved in leaks to the media. Their members were indicted because of evidence not politics. And now they are scared sh#tless of the STL. But all their crying has no impact on the outcome.

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.
