Prime Minister-designate Tammam Salam left the hospital on Monday after he was treated for a stomach virus, the state-run National News Agency reported.

NNA said Salam was discharged from the American University of Beirut Medical Center on Monday morning following a one-day treatment.

He thanked all those who telephoned him and visited him to inquire about his health, including President Michel Suleiman, Speaker Nabih Berri, Caretaker Premier Najib Miqati and al-Mustaqbal movement leader ex-PM Saad Hariri.

The PM-designate will resume his official functions after a two-day rest at his residence, NNA said.

Radio Voice of Lebanon (100.5) said that Salam had fainted when he was offering condolences at a residence in the Beirut neighborhood of Verdun, which required transferring him to the hospital on Sunday.

Enemies of Lebanon, of peace only speak wrong about Mr Tamam Salam. Let's not forget it is in Israel and Syria's interest to keep Lebanon in chaos. The above aounis are getting monthly ₪ for their contributions towards that shameful objective.

1◊ He is not my salam as you say, he's a consensus PM candidate. The only problem comes from those who follow Damascus' instructions/obstructions.

2◊ The PM has to be Sunni, their current leadership are mainly Mustahbal. It would make sense to please this community. I am not familiar with his strategy, he simply is the current #1 choice for this position. There might be another one later.

3◊ you are here to make troubles, anyone who comes every now and them to this website notices this. you and others are obviously paid to do so, unless you are retired; perhaps you could enlighten us. Do you take plastic or ₪ in cash?
