The March 14 General Secretariat announced on Wednesday the launch of its campaign to topple Prime Minister Najib Miqati’s government “through all possible peaceful and democratic means.”

General Secretariat coordinator Fares Soaid said: “We are not keen on creating security unrest and diplomatic problems in Lebanon.”

“We assessed the means available to us and how we can confront the cabinet,” he revealed after the General Secretariat’s weekly meeting.

“The MPs and parties will perform their duties to overthrow the government,” he said.

In addition, Soaid stressed: “We not only want to topple the cabinet, but shift Lebanon from an abnormal position to a normal one where it commits to international legitimacy and where the arms rest in the hands of the state.”

With all due respect to the able opposition which is March14, it is not the path back to becoming a majority to make as your main focus a negative, "toppling the M8 regime". The March 8 Regime will fall over of its own weight and internal inconsistencies. It will fall because that which props it up in Syria is itself going to topple before this year comes to an end.

The task of M14 is to keep before the eyes of the people the hypocracy, inconsistency and the impotency of having a gang of monkeys running the government who, among themselves, are not capable of independent decision making without calling Damascus or Tehran. Sure they should do this.
But they should have a vision for the future. When, not if, this faux government falls, M14 be ready. It should develop and put before the Lebanese its plan of government. How it will keep the electricity running 24/7/365, among other things. It needs to be a government in waiting, ready on Day 1. The people need a real choice.

Lol! These corrupt losers still think that they have a chance! After years of poor leadership by the corrupt loser, Rafik Hariri, Lebanon still has a chance now with the new government!!

Being in opposition does not mean "toppling" the government but proposing different policies and keeping the governemt accountable of its actions. M14 is clueless about what it means to "oppose" and once again this proves that they have no idea as to what a true democratic system means...the only way to change the governemt is through elections or by constitutional means. The country is headed towards another major crisis and M14 will bear the responsibility, regardless of what they believe in this matter.

Bravo Beiruti and Roland. Right said!

Unfortunately all we have in Lebanon are monkeys and sharks, not one of them is capable of running a country.

Someone please wake me up when this happens, and hopefully, before I transition to the AU DELA. Thanks.

i ve been asking several times to some M8 supporters here whose only words are to call hariri a gang of corrupted, if they were ready also to judge their leaders who also have participated and benefit from the corruption system which the syrians have created in lebanon.

i still have no answers ....
which prove two things: whether they are seeking revenge only forgetting and excusing their leaders to be also corrupted, or it s just an insult they have learned and they keep repeating without understanding what they are saying like brainless tools....

in either case, it proves how they consider justice (one sided and in their favor) and the institutions!

I think that u should do better with the title... "topple the Hezbollah regime"

funny how, even in doing propaganda, it's underrated

peace... I ask several questions and I am even very boring at giving my opinions and never got answers.. red clicks, insults and bad and counter-productive argumentation based on who I should be, my hidden agenda, etc.

I will answer your question though I don't consider myself an m8 or a Aounist (I am born maronite but agnostic (no God, not even to please a few jerks on this board)) - but since I'm not m14, I can answer I guess :)

So, will I be ready to judge all leader.. YES, I'll be even very happy if that could happen.... war crimes and corruption as well. As I said, Power is a duty and a huge responsibility and whoever uses it to make money or help his friends should be judged... everyone

How about u? u r defending Corrupted people and corrupted justice, are you for Geagea being out of Jail, Da'niye criminals being released?

u claim u are for Justice yet, u defend corrupt people and criminals... why?

u r for democracy, yet u support plutarchy
