Syria's jihadist al-Nusra Front said in a statement on Saturday that its leader was in good health, after state television had reported his death.
"What was claimed by one channel alone, regarding what it claimed was the killing of the emir of al-Nusra Front, was a lie," said the group.
On Friday night, Syrian state television said Abu Mohammed al-Jawlani had been killed in coastal Latakia province, but state news agency SANA quickly withdrew an alert saying the same thing.
The al-Nusra Front, a jihadist group affiliated with al-Qaida, is one of the more powerful rebel groups battling to overthrow President Bashar Assad.
Al-Nusra was designated a "terrorist" organization by the United States late last year.

Stop pretending to be against this terrorist and his type. He is a direct ally of your leaders (February 14 Saudi-Wahabi coalition) and both share the same regional sponsor, the kingdom of terrorism.

Abu Mohammed al-Jawlani days are numbered ... If Assad doesn't get him Bandar bin Laden will. Bandar can not afford to have a man running around that can most probably connect him to the chemical attacks in Syria.

Hala Hala Bil Moukhtar Phoenikiss: You miss and savor the moments when the Baath regime boots were on your neck. I hope you will re-live those moments so we can hear about your heroics again. You are a fake, a delusionist, and above all a hypocrite. Ask yourself what your Hizb is doing in Syria before you ask what these foreign fighters are doing there? Concern yourself with Lebanon first and only Lebanon. I enjoy your posts..... !
