Police Intelligence chief Col. Wissam al-Hassan could be appointed ambassador to Saudi Arabia to replace Maj. Gen. Marwan Zein, whose mission ends next December, an informed ministerial source told al-Liwaa daily Monday.

The source expected the head of the Internal Security Forces Maj. Gen. Ashraf Rifi to remain in his post.

He said appointments would be made to fill vacant positions in the ISF leadership.

The source’s remarks to al-Liwaa came as the cabinet is making appointments and holding talks on changes in top posts of security agencies.

Yeah.... Yeah..... need to replace a guy who uncovered more than 15 Israeli spying cells, uncovered Hizbullah recent CIA operatives, uncovered major leads in the Harriri murder case by someone else who will protect the "back" of the resistance!!!

Perhaps, we also need to change our Sri Lankan maid to protect the back of the resistance......

With due respect Mr. Miqati: you talk from both sides of your mouth: On one hand i recently heard you say you intend to put the right man in the right job. How in God's name is Wissam Hassan qualified to be an Ambassador??? For heaven's sake he is the ISF head of intelligence....!!!! If your and your allies vendetta is so obvious, can you not find the man another suitable position to go with his qualifications or you want him out of the country all together??!!!!

Don't kid yourself, they are all equally corrupt . . . Both camps operate the same way and always will!

does it mean that Rifi will resign? apparently no? integrity?? I hope that this is bad propaganda!

Wissam helped uncover CIA in HA and Mossad agents... but HA wants him out to have someone who will protect them? I didn't get the subtlety of that statement!!

what major leads did wissam uncover?? can we get details?

from what we know, Wissam was in charge of protecting Rafic Hariri and was not with him the day he died... it means that he failed in this task... he was at the AUB passing exams on that day?? what sort of exams... how to uncover the truth? diploma on how to find Mossad cells and CIA agents infiltrated in Hezbollastan?

I don't know much about the guy except what has been written in Naharnet and newspapers but if someone has evidence to support Wissam's ability in doing his job well, I'll be happy to read about it.. Thanks.

That said, I'm not sure at all that he will be replaced by a person more competent, just trying to understand what people write & on what bases?
