Iranian FM: Beirut Bomb Attacks are 'Alarm for All of Us'

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif said deadly bomb attacks against Iran's embassy in Beirut on Tuesday should be "an alarm for all of us".

"The tragedy today... should be an alarm for all of us that we need to deal with and unless we deal with it seriously, it will engulf all of us," Zarif said after talks with his Italian counterpart Emma Bonino in Rome.

Asked about the blame laid on Israel by his ministry, he said: "We have reason to be suspicious of every move they make. Every move they make is about spreading tension and mistrust."

He said the attack was a symptom of the "extremism" spreading in the Middle East, particularly from Syria.

"There is every reason to be concerned about it. Extremism cannot be contained in any single country," he said.

"It's a very serious problem. Once we see a flare-up of the tension that is boiling in Syria there will hardly a possibility of stopping it at the Syrian border, or even in the Middle East," he said.

At least 23 people, including an Iranian national, died Tuesday when two suicide bombers set off successive blasts at the Iranian embassy in southern Beirut. Nearly 150 people were wounded.

iran does not know how to read!
they put all shia in the region under such hatred they became a legitimate target.
they created an impossible situation for this community while promising them victory, they are actually binging death and desolation upon them.
nasrallah and iran are the most stupid people I have ever seen.
do they really think they can control an arab country just like that? they thin there will not be a high price to pay for being invaders?

Hezbollah/Nosra must get out of Lebanon full stop. We dont favour one to defend us from the other as they are both terrorist organizations.

@geha the sectarian, the supporter of deaths of innocents, based on your comment you are justifying this cowardly, low life act, basically what you are saying is that Shia should expect to be attacked in Lebanon because of their involvement in Syria. Well, to you I say this, irresponsible, uneducated comments as yours, make it justifiable for Shia/Christians to target Sunnis from all over the world because the Sunni sect was represented by reject extremists from all over, from Africa, Asia, Europe and as far as Australia Sunni jihadists took part in the fight against the Syrian government in way before HA was involved. Extremists that you support turned into a holly war (jihad) and sold to the reject extremists of the Sunni sect. Low acts like this could never be justifiable or even be anything other than shameful, targeting innocents in another country in disgusting.

it is iran and hizbushaitan who are sectarian and are putting shia at risk of being targeted!
analyzing the situation for what it is does not make a person a sectarian.
unfortunately, you make my comment more real: you do not know how to read.

The imperialists established and maintained a Safavid gouvernment in Teheran since 1978 for one reason only: to wage war and agression against Arabs and Muslims.
The Safavids waged war against Iraq that costed the lives of millions of people, helped the imperialists to invade Afghanistan and Iraq, instigated war in Yemen, and is supporting the criminal Alawaite military regime in Syria. Their hands are deep in Arab and Muslim blood, they have paid a heavy price in the last 30 years and the price will increase in the future. This artificial Persian empire will not survive the next 20 years.
