Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Awadh Asiri thanked Lebanese officials who voiced their commitment to ensuring the safety of his country's embassy in Beirut in light of the kingdom's advisory to its citizens to leave Lebanon, reported the Saudi newspaper Okaz on Saturday.

He told the daily: “The embassy has not received any threats and Lebanon is a fraternal state.”

“Ensuring the security of diplomats is the duty of the host state,” he continued.

“The Lebanese government is hosting them and it is responsible for their safety and security,” stressed Asiri.

Addressing the accusations of terrorism against the kingdom made by some officials, he said: “Such remarks do not represent the Lebanese people's known positions towards Saudi Arabia.”

On Thursday, the Saudi embassy in Beirut called on citizens to leave Lebanon because of the dangerous situation after some media linked the kingdom to deadly blasts.

Twin bombings targeted on Tuesday the Iranian embassy in Beirut, leaving 25 people dead and nearly 150 wounded.

The attack outside the embassy was followed by a stinging campaign in some pro-Hizbullah media outlets against Saudi Arabia, accusing the Gulf monarchy of being behind the blasts.

An al-Qaida-affiliated group, the Abdullah Azzam Brigades, claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it is aimed at pressuring Hizbullah to withdraw its fighters from Syria.

Saudi Arabia backs the Syrian rebels, while Iran and its ally Hizbullah support the Syrian regime.

That is one difference between The Saud family and Iran.
Even when the world knows The Saudi's had a hand in the suicide bombings, Iran chooses to blame the "Zionists".
Where as the Saud family makes it their duty to to stir up sectarian strife in Lebanon, Syria and Iraq.

It is a wonderment that Iran keeps giving the Saudis political cover to the point now where Iran looks to be consumed with hate over Israel.

"It is a wonderment that Iran keeps giving the Saudis political cover"

because maybe saudis are not behind this bombing and iran knows it?

The ones behind the bombing are al qaeda affiliated rebels fighting in syria and who funds these terrorists Saudi Arabia which means Saudi oil money bought the bombs which killed innocent civilians

“Such remarks do not represent the Lebanese people's known positions towards Saudi Arabia.”

The overwhelming majority of freedom-loving, non-Al Qaeda sympathizing Lebanese is that Saudi Arabia is the gravest terrorist threat to Lebanon's security, independence, and democracy.

Down with the Saudi regime! Down with Arabism! Down with Wahabism! Down with terrorism!

Another comedian "the world knows The Saudi's had a hand in the suicide bombings"… really the whole world? If that is the case what kind of cowards are the Iranians to hide behind the usual blame the "Zionists" mantra.

Of-course that's the reason the Ayatollah is the greatest of humanitarians and Hizbulla is protecting Lebanon in Syrian… Just keep telling yourself that :-)

The Saudis are becoming desperate ... Along with Israel they need conflict to justify their despotic violent regimes by creating enemies and fomenting strife.

Just this year the Saudis have revoked the visas of foreign by the millions hoping to supply jobs for their own people. Poverty is rampant and hope is fading fast.
