A clash broke out Tuesday between students belonging to the Lebanese Forces and the Marada Movement at the Lebanese University's Faculty of Law and Political Science in Jal el-Dib, which prompted the intervention of the army.

A meeting was held at the faculty administration's office in a bid to resolve the dispute, state-run National News Agency reported.

According to LBCI television, LF students were playing partisan anthems on loud speakers, which provoked students belonging to Marada.

The tension soon escalated into a verbal clash and a fistfight, which left Marada student official at the faculty Elie Hashem wounded, LBCI said.

The incident comes one day after a standoff between students belonging to Hizbullah and the March 14 forces at the Université Saint-Joseph in Beirut. The army managed Monday to prevent any clash between the rival parties.

@Southern : shut up already with your failed propaganda.

Why don't you bring in the killer of Salman who was peacefully protesting in front of the Iranian embassy.

You have the audacity to commit crimes, cover your criminals and complain ?

Assassinations and violence : the Hezbollah way of dealing with opponents...

Again, you're in no position to lecture others on criminal and animal behaviour.

You want to answer me, answer the contents on my comment. Are you capable of finding an excuse for Hezbollah to attack and kill protesters ? Will you blame it on Israel, Takfiris ?

Blame is on Santa Claus if you want ... the season is coming ! At least it will change us from the usual BS we hear from you !

If true, then the LF students incriminated with such should be disciplined accordingly. Universities are institutions of higher learning and should not be the place for political propaganda. Apply the all to all at all times.

I completely agree with you. The common denominator in the two scuffles is M8. Anyway, these are only scuffles. I like your veiled attempts at somehow placing a couple of fistacuff incidents on the same level as the armed hostile attacks that M8 has perpetrated over the years. What has taken place the last couple of days is child's play compared to the other stuff. If anything, LF's actions don't amount to much more than a few young men lashing out due to frustrations arising from the inequality they've been experiencing, and not a well-conceived plan to dominate the Lebanese landscape through a sectarian agenda with regional overtones.

phoenix will all due respect, what you say you know remains hearsay. you're saying HA or marada "could be doing that" but you have absolutely no proof about it. your experience of it in one place doesnt mean others are doing it too.
