SSNP Mourns Member Killed 'Performing National Duty'

The Syrian Social National Party announced on Friday evening the death of a member who was killed while "performing his national duty in confronting terrorism and extremism,” in an apparent reference to the war in neighboring Syria.
Mohammed Ali Awwad, who hails from the town of Almat in Jbeil, joined the party in 2007, according to a statement released by the SSNP.
"A popular funeral will be held on Sunday at 2:00pm, after which Awwad will be buried in his hometown.”
Since the eruption of Syria's civil war, this was the first time the SSNP announces the death of a member amid many reports saying the party is fighting in the neighboring country alongside President Bashar Assad's forces.
Hizbullah is openly fighting against Syria's rebels, and has announced the deaths of many members since 2011.
And in November, former MP Wiam Wahhab's Tawhid Party said several of its members were killed in Syria.

There is still good ssnp people, like there is lf people that are now with march 8.. Communist in lebanon are also divided, official party figures support syrian regime (saddly) as a big numb of communist (like georges hawi) are with freedome... So please donnot talk about all ssnp lets hope the ssnp dissidents will have a bigger part to play in the future...

I remember when the SSNP was a party of intellectuals and educated people. Sad to see that it has become a tool and a mercenary of oppressive regimes who spread hate and sectarianism, fundamentally against the Party's principles that so many used to believe in. Rot in hell.

Well maybe the syrian regime killed a lot of them but u know real patriots ssnp, marxists keeps their fight on, u should hv know better; riad el turk for exemple even after more than decade of jail for his political opinion are still there... And someday this bloodshed will end and there will be a price to pay.. Maybe then ssnp executed in lebanon in the late 80s early 90s for being against syrian regime as well as all the free thinkers will be avanged...
