Arab Democratic Party Chief Fails to Attend Hearing on Tripoli Bombings for Medical Reasons

Arab Democratic Party leader former MP Ali Eid failed on Thursday to attend a hearing on the August twin bombings in the northern city of Tripoli for medical reasons, reported the National News Agency.

His lawyer, Hiyam Eid, submitted a medical report to First Military Investigation Judge Riyad Abu Ghida excusing him from the hearing.

The nature of his medical condition was not disclosed.

In November, Eid evaded a summons to undergo questioning by a military tribunal judge over his alleged aid of a suspect linked to the bombings of the al-Taqwa and al-Salam mosques in Tripoli.

Abu Ghida had filed a subpoena against Eid and his driver Ali, on charges of helping Ahmed Merhi escape justice by smuggling him to Syria.

Merhi is the suspected driver of the explosive-laden vehicle that blew up near al-Taqwa mosque.

Lebanese authorities have arrested several members of the pro-Syrian regime Arab Democratic Party on suspicion they were involved in the Tripoli attacks.

Abu Ghida on Tuesday questioned Eid's son Rifaat on charges of threatening the Internal Security Forces Intelligence Bureau.

@FT : all your syrian terrorist products "dissappear" when required by justice. Your Hezbollah assassins, Ghazi Kanaan, this guy above ...

This is your modus operandi ! Hide your criminals.

The very fact you are defending him shows how much of a traitor you are for supporting the tripoli bombing and their perpetrators.

Regarding your stance on Hariri being abroad, please explain how relevant it is and what difference does it make if he's in Lebanon or not ? He's threatened and prefers to avoid being killed by his opponents like his father was. What's the problem for you ?

Internal security Forces are like hyenas/vultures searching for a sick prey to eat. They are still pushing to a sick old man, do they really think he could carry out that act by himself? Nobody from Jabal Mohsen was responsible, ISIL or Israel did it to create strife. Thats about as sure as it gets.

Idiots ... just like Hezbollah idiots, Berri idiots, Palestinian idiots ... what can you say ? Condemn one but not the other ? They all shoot their guns in the air.

And you support them holding onto their weapons !

FT
Right in dude I agree with you

Thumb eli-g 09 January 2014, 12:58

@ flamethrower Hariri is not wanted for questioning by a military court for the killing of more than 45 people. You cannot compare the two circumstances.

Thumb eli-g 09 January 2014, 14:36

@ft Eid needs to come in to be questioned. I am sure you agree with me.
As far as Hariri is concerned he has a bull eye on him. what do you want him to do? come in to be killed. If I was him I would do the same thing. Your agenda is to make him look bad. You turned an article about eid into a Hariri Saqr issue.

u're right, there's no bull's eye theory...
gemayel have safe strongholds, mount lebanon is mainly maronite and not far from beirut. maronites are more united and less infiltrated by syrian than sunnis...
Saad stay abroad, u're more useful abroad and alive, than dead and buried in beirut...
