Hizbullah Meeting with Western Ambassadors over Security Situation, Cabinet Formation

Hizbullah International Relations official Ammar Moussawi has recently met with several ambassadors of western countries to discuss the cabinet's formation and the security situation in the country, the Central News Agency reported on Thursday.

"Several meetings were held recently between political foes in the country,” CNA said.

"A business lunch took place between Moussawi and French Ambassador Patrice Paoli at a restaurant,” CNA continued, adding that other political delegations were also meeting separately at the same restaurant.

The same source explained that the recent talks were encouraged by the “current openness between different local factions due to the deteriorating security situation, and thanks to the Iranian-Western rapprochement.”

In a related matter, Moussawi met Thursday with European Union Ambassador to Lebanon Angelina Eichhorst.

The talks tackled efforts currently made to form a consensual cabinet, and the upcoming presidential elections, according to a statement released by Hizbullah's Media Relations Department.

Local political foes are currently studying a proposal suggested by the March 8 alliance on a cabinet based on the 8-8-8 lineup. President Michel Suleiman had promised that he would study the proposal put forward by Speaker Nabih Berri, and the formation currently awaits March 14 camp's decision, specifically the approval of former PM and al-Mustaqbal Party leader MP Saad Hariri.

The United States places Hizbullah on its list of terrorist organization, and in July 2013, the Council of the European Union and the European Commission added the party's military wing to the EU's list of “entities, groups and persons involved in terrorist acts.”

This "Assad is gone" thing is so funny.

It's been a few years and still people keep repeating that.

To think they'd be bored by now and have wised up to see reality...

Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending anyone. But just stating reality.

You are the biggest joke on this site, HIzbollah are protectors of izrael if you want to find out for yourself just go and shoot a sling shot over the border at izrael and see what Hizbollah will do to you. Hizbollah are joke they think they beat izrael in 2006 all they did was cause the death of 1200 innocent lebanese lives and destroy the lebanese economy it was the biggest scam on the lebanese only to bolden Hizbollahs position in lebanon izrael never had any interest in the south of lebanon the only reason they invaded and occupied it was the palestinians wanted to fight their war from lebanese territory during the 80s now Hizbollah guards the south for them .

Are you serious? The Iranian Occupation Forces are given their 15 minutes of fame with "Best Western" ambassadors? That's like saying that Marechal Petain had an audience with Churchill!

Anonyme: Though a lot of Russians (mainly those who voted for Vlad over the past 20 years) believe that they support whatever it is that Baschar is doing (though they'd be pressed to tell you what exactly that is - Russian state TV, such as RTL or Pervaya, make it a point of not linking Russian support for what is happening on the ground in Syria), one thing they can all tell you for sure (especially after Volgagrad) is that they want nothing to do with Basch. So nope, no datcha for Basch (especially not after the Winter Olympics - "datcha" literally means "the Summer escape").

HA = QAEDA
what is the difference between those terrorists who blow themselves up between civilians and those who plant a bomb on the road to kill politicians and consider civilians as collateral damage ?

Let HA and his hypocrite supporters kindly aware of us of their concept of Jihad and Islamic Khilafa and all those ideologies that drive Al Qaeda....

I guess the USA is no longer the great Satan. I guess now Europe and the West are friends with HA since they seem to agree on maintaining the Israel-friendly regime in Syria.

Who ever heard of a political party conducting foreign relations outside of the purview of the Foreign Minister. This is the sort of thing that happened back in the 1980's when the LF and every other militia group had a foreign secretary who conducted such meetings.

More action by Hezbollah, the last and only armed militia in Lebanon, in derogation of and displacement of the institutions of the State and Government. Then when they screw up, they all bemoan the fact that State institutions are so weak.

Just like the kid who murders their parents and then when the food runs out, moans that they are poor orphans.
Shame on the Europeans too who encourage this.
