Three Soldiers Wounded in Clash between Army, Gunmen in Tripoli

إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربية W460

A clash broke out on Friday between the army and gunmen in the neighborhood of Bab al-Tabbaneh in the northern city of Tripoli.

"At 12:00 p.m., gunmen fired an Energa-type rocket and gunshots at an army military vehicle in the Tripoli area of al-Mallouleh, which left three soldiers lightly injured," an army statement said.

"Army forces returned fire and are still pursuing the armed men to arrest them and refer them to the relevant judicial authorities," it added.

Media reports said earlier the fighting broke out when the gunmen fired the Energa at the vehicle near al-Rahman Mosque in Bab al-Tabbaneh.

The army had approached the gunmen to prohibit them from carrying weapons near the mosque, reported the National News Agency.

The gunmen retaliated by attacking the army.

MTV later identified the wounded as Rashed Karam, Nasser al-Izz, and Ramez Allo.

The army had intensified in recent months its presence around places of worship throughout Lebanon, especially in light of twin bombings that targeted the al-Salam and Taqwa mosques in Tripoli in August.

There's no damn excuse to target the army totally unacceptable!

you claim m8 does not want to bolster the army, while M14's friends SHOOT ON IT

Thumb _mowaten_ 10 January 2014, 16:34

and while you whine, i'll be waiting for the army to catch them and to hear you crying when you see the videos of gunmen getting slapped around.
people like you were more shocked to see assir's boy getting beaten then they were about assir killing 18 soldiers.

Thumb popeye 10 January 2014, 16:48

sectarians like mowaten claim they want a strong army when all they want is to keep the army weak so they can have their filthy militia control the country. The president said the saudi grant was not tied to any conditions. Yet, he comes in here and lectures everybody about how this grant is tied to conditions. Pure sectarian paid propagandist.

Thumb _mowaten_ 10 January 2014, 16:52

why did m14 let the cabinet do anything? they blocked everything from the oil & gas file to the electricity plants.

and keep your presumptions of what would happen if whatever. i'm looking at here and now, fact is it's m14's friends killing our soldiers, in saida, arsal or tripoli.
for years and years you kept bringing up the tragic case of samer hanna, who in all likelihood was killed by accident, but in the mean time, you find excuses and turn a blind eye to the dozens and dozens of soldiers who are being deliberately killed.
hypocrites

Thumb _mowaten_ 10 January 2014, 16:55

popeye you dont need to try so hard to prove to everyone what an illiterate you are. if you dont understand what i say, dont pretend to comment on it.
i said the grant is welcome IF it's unconditional.
i never said there was conditions, because we have no reasons to believe so for the moment. only time will tell.

Hello Mowaten. I enjoy reading your lies today.

Please provide evidence to support your lies that M14 is affiliated in any way to these murderers ?

Regarding the murder of Samer Hanna, it's still a murder and your killer is running free like all other Hezbollah killers who were ordered to kill and assassinate politicians, journalists, ISF and Army men.

There is no likelihood of accidentaly killing a helicopter pilot ! None of your excuses hold. It was a politically closed file and you know it !

Hezbollah is no better than Assir and other terrorist groups !

Thumb _mowaten_ 10 January 2014, 17:22

flamecatcher: keep hiding behind your finger. everybody knows who gave cover to assir, arsal and bab el tabbeneh, and who keeps finding excuses for them.

i find it incredibly cheeky of you to pretend otherwise, when at the same time whenever anything happens in dahiyeh, the bekaa or the south, you automatically accuse hezbollah. can't have it both ways can you?

as for samer hanna, the shooter was judged and sentenced, so unless you're a supreme court judge, you have nothing to say on this.
again, while you keep bringing on that closed case, dozens of soldiers are being killed and your silence about it is deafening.

Thumb _mowaten_ 10 January 2014, 17:29

anonyme: tell me, if nasrallah put a red line on nahr el bared, and saniora still went in, how come nasrallah didnt do anything about it?
you guys are pathetic, you take a word, pull it out of context make it a mantra you repeat everyday until you start believing it yourselves.
nasrallah didn't put a red line on going after fath el islam, he warned against the consequences on palestinian civilians. and he was right, they ended up paying a huge toll, in death and total destruction of their camp. until today it has not been rebuilt, and they are refugees for the second time!

Thumb FlameCatcher 10 January 2014, 17:34

@Mowaten : everybody know who gave cover to Assir ? Please show me because I don't know ... where's your evidence to back your lies ? Oh i forgot ... you don't have any !

And regarding Samer Hanna, you're the one who brought it up. And the case was closed politically. Forgive me if I don't agree with the "sentencing" as most Lebanese judicial cases are BS. Hence, the need for an STL to tackle the case of your leaders murdering our politicians.

And no need to make up lies about my "silence" regarding the death of army soldiers. I support the army more than anyone of you who cheer Hezbollah : the largest obstacle and first opponent to a strong lebanese army. An army who would otherwise force them to let go of their weapons.

You cannot be a Hezbollah supporter and army supporter at the same time. it's an "oxymoron" (PUN INTENDED).

Thumb _mowaten_ 10 January 2014, 17:47

yea flamecatcher, you're such a supporter of the army that you keep silent on the dozens of killings. it seems it is you who cannot be at the same time with the takfiris and with the army. i have no problem supporting both the lebanese army and the lebanese resistance, because no matter what you say, they work together and complete each other.

anonyme: yea, you dont have anything to answer so you apply the m14 101: empty accusations. i bet FC would ask for evidence to support your accusations, if he wasnt so biased.

Thumb FlameCatcher 10 January 2014, 17:58

@Mowaten : Ya kezeb, where do I support any Takfiris ever ?

You're a damn liar and failure as a human being ! You're the scum that constitutes the M8 sheep. A bunch of liars, criminals, murderers, thiefs and the rest are the idiots that follow them !

Thumb FlameCatcher 10 January 2014, 18:41

@southern : are you talking about the same political cover the Hezbollah killer of Samer hanna received ?

Hassan himself said no single Hezbollah member does anything without the full knowledge of the Kezb. This means the Kezb was aware when he shot the pilot. He received an order to shoot. Otherwise, he received an order to shoot at anything in the air including Lebanese helicopters and their pilots. In both cases, he enjoyed political cover ! Had it been any other party, the killer would have been jailed.

Now you are right, of course they are not alone and take orders from higher instances. It doesn't mean that those are who you believe they are.

Most of these sunni terrorists are students of Bashar's security services so don't look much further than your Hezbollah entourage and Hezbollah friends to find the culprits.

Assads are famous to play both sides of the game in order to cripple their opponents. They have done this for decades !

Thumb FlameCatcher 10 January 2014, 18:52

Hezbollah's partners are responsible for the Tripoli bombings and their GHANAM dare open their mouths...

Their partners like Samaha import explosives into Lebanon, are caught by Wissam el Hassan. Wissam is threatened by Aoun and killed just later by Hezbollah ...

They dare talk about justice and apprehending culprits ?

WHen they back dogs like Jamil el Sayyed too ?

Aounies, you sold your souls to the devil by supporting this terrorist organisation and their partners and the very person (Assad) who made your lives a living hell !

Thumb -phoenix1 10 January 2014, 20:04

WL, I totally agree with you, and this is why I always said, whoever shoots at the army should get in return a muscled reply from the army. Thumb FlameCatcher 10 January 2014, 13:24

Thumb Mystic 10 January 2014, 14:11

Who are the only crazies to attack their own Army? Not Hezbollah, only takfiris who doesn't care about nationality, and whose fighters come from ISIL and other parts of the world, ISIL world have the least to loose in a Civil war, since they have no family here, but normal Lebanese Sunni families they don't want this war to happen.

Thumb Mystic 10 January 2014, 14:12

I repeat, We never hear about Jabal Mohsen firing upon armed forces why? Because they obey the law, in Bab Tabbaneh there are many kids infiltrated by Al Qaeda to do their dirty work. Ladies and Gentlemen, for you who doesn't know, Al Qaeda is in Lebanon, and this will be a bloody year.

Thumb Mystic 10 January 2014, 17:16

Nope they can't, when the army enters Jabal Mohsen, the residents put their guns down, and let the army take over. Unlike tabbaneh who shoots everytime Army APCs drives by Syria Street.

Actually smartie pantie if they were arrested then HA payroll account total from Bachar and Iran will be zero in terms of car bombs. There were no terrorists when Assad father destroyed Hama, and filled the mosques with water mixed with electricity, such an artistic way to drive your opponents out of the mosques right? Similar to the truck bombs against the US marines and hijacking planes. Case in point Eid belongs to jail same as Nasrallah for ordering the killing of innocent citizens directly or indirectly. Those who refuse to abide by the state laws and pay taxes and electricity will need to be dealt with one way or another as we have proper laws but it needs to be applied on ALL.

Thumb _mowaten_ 10 January 2014, 17:00
