The Lebanese army arrested on Friday several Syrians for the possession of detonators in the eastern Bekaa Valley, Voice of Lebanon radio (93.3) reported.

VDL quoted sources as saying that the arrest of the six suspects was made during a raid in the central Bekaa town of al-Rafid.

Some of the suspects admitted to have entered Lebanon illegally and of being in contact with security and military leaders in the Syrian opposition.

The sources refused to divulge more information on the alleged targets of the six Syrians.

A couple of weeks ago, a Lebanese youth was caught stealing a few condiments from a supermarket. He was led away and beaten like trash, then handed over to security. In this same Lebanon, foreigners and Lebanese alike are caught with deadly and lethal material, they get arrested, jailed then set free. Every time I go for a walk in Downtown Beirut, I look at the lamp poles and keep saying to myself, gosh, how suitable to make them into hanging poles for those many criminals who get caught and who by value of their arrest were caught short of killing innocent humans. Don't get me wrong, I still believe in the law, in its course of action, let justice do all it takes to try all suspects to beyond reasonable doubt, but then for heaven's sake, when found guilty, just damn hang them, and in public. Masalan today is a Friday, why not do this every Friday, till none is left but the God fearing and law abiding folks?
